At Schijvens Corporate Fashion, we actively work every day towards fair production. We do this through the choices we make, the relationships we build, and the responsibility we take within our supply chain.
Like all affiliated brands, Schijvens is audited annually by the Fair Wear Foundation through the Brand Performance Check. This assessment reviews eight pillars, including living wages, no child labour, a safe and healthy working environment, no excessive working hours, and more. We are very proud to have achieved a score of 93 points this year, allowing us to maintain our Leader status, the highest possible category.
Structural progress and full transparency
Fair Wear’s assessment shows that we are not only performing well, but also continuing to make clear progress. We have a clear and publicly available Human Rights Due Diligence policy, with defined responsibilities within our organisation. In addition, we have full visibility of our production chain and are transparent about it, both internally and externally. For us, this is essential: only through openness can you truly work on improvement.
Fair pricing as the foundation
A key part of our approach is how we handle pricing. Schijvens works with open-cost pricing, meaning we provide customers with full transparency on how our prices are calculated, including the costs of elements such as living wages and circularity. This gives customers a clear understanding of what sustainability costs and enables them to make realistic choices. Our purchasing department structurally applies this calculation method and can clearly demonstrate it. We also update our living wage benchmarks annually to ensure our pricing remains aligned with rising minimum wages and the ongoing development towards living wages in production countries.
Collaboration within the supply chain
We deliberately choose to work with a fixed group of suppliers and invest in long-term partnerships. When challenges arise during production, we work together to find solutions rather than switching to new parties. This way of working builds trust, stability, and ultimately leads to better conditions throughout the supply chain.
Women empowerment
Creating impact also means contributing to equal opportunities. Our women empowerment project in Pakistan remains an important pillar. The programme demonstrates how work and training can structurally improve the lives of women. At the same time, in India, we collaborate with a factory that employs only women. Women play an essential role in our supply chain, and we are proud to contribute to this.
Going beyond the standard
Fair Wear also highlights that Schijvens goes beyond standard requirements. We apply our due diligence not only to direct suppliers, but also to deeper tiers of the supply chain. These are often where the biggest challenges and therefore the greatest opportunities to make real impact are found.
Responsible business is not a project; it is a continuous process. And it is a process we carry out together with our partners, suppliers, and customers. With this score, we demonstrate that sustainability and fair production at Schijvens are not just promises, but something we work hard on every single day.
