The Netherlands has launched a new collaboration for circular workwear. Home care organization Tzorg and cleaning service provider Zizo are joining forces with Dobbi and Schijvens Corporate Fashion to reduce textile waste, the involved parties announced via LinkedIn. The initiative follows a successful pilot of a circular model.
The circular model works as follows: worn clothing from former employees is collected, professionally cleaned by dry-cleaning and repair service Dobbi, and then reused for new employees. Items are repaired where needed, and clothing that is no longer usable is recycled.
Schijvens Corporate Fashion, which has been designing, producing, and distributing workwear since 1863, supports the project as the manufacturer. This family-owned company from Brabant is a frontrunner in sustainability and counts clients such as NS, Hema, McDonald’s, Albert Heijn and Praxis.
The collaboration helps reduce waste and lower costs. Moreover, it is an important step toward achieving circular ambitions, according to a statement from Tzorg on LinkedIn. Tzorg is a nationwide home care organization, active in 310 municipalities across the Netherlands.
